Matthew 4:12–17Scripture
Everybody turn your Bibles this morning to Exodus. No, not Exodus. Sorry, that's where my Bible is. Matthew chapter 4. And we're going to look at verse 12–17 this morning.
Oh man. So here Jesus is beginning his ministry.
He had just been baptized. And so now he's not only been baptized, he's been led up into the wilderness by the devil to be tempted. And he overcomes that. And where Israel had failed, Jesus succeeded. And so now we have victory. We see victory. We see a Messiah who has come where we now can have victory if we reside in him.
So it begins to encourage our heart and then he begins his public ministry. I can think of a lot of things to kick off a ministry. Doing what he does doesn't seem like the necessary the thing that I would do, right? So it's very interesting what he does. Verse 12, we read it together. Now, when he heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee.
Nothing like feeling abandoned right after you baptize somebody, right? And you help them kick off their ministry. You get arrested. Jesus goes the opposite direction. This be a bummer. And leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum by the sea in a territory of Zebulun and Naphali.
Introduction
So that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled, the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphali, the way of the sea beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles.
The people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light. And for those dwelling in the region, a shadow of death on them a light has dawned.
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "These words sound familiar." Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. I love that. You ever been Wow, I am blind without contacts, by the way. So, I just hit 48 today. So, I'm 48 years old. Young. 48 years young. Jeff said another orbit around the So, it's it's it's awesome. I'm kind of excited.
I think I'm excited to hit 50, right? I'm 50, you know. Anyway, so I'm I'm really excited to hit 50, but I'm my eyes are getting worse, so I don't I can't even see Brook's face right now. It's really bad, without contacts. Anyway, have you ever have you ever been in the house at night, all the shades drawn, and then you're about to go to bed, and you ever been in a place where there's not a light by your bed, so you have to kick it off at the switch by the door?
Now, you have to navigate. Once you kick it, you have to navigate from the door to the bed. Now, the good thing is you still see like the matrix. Like you see like for a moment you see where everything was placed in the room. Although it's dark, you see shadows of light still lingering of what where things were.
You know what I'm talking about? So, you have like three seconds. You have three seconds to navigate your way remembering where everything was and hop in the bed, right? And but if you stand by the door for three seconds, you let the light disappear and your memory disappear where everything was and it's dark.
Like I'm talking about dark, it's hard to navigate in that. But if you go beyond 3 seconds, okay, a little bit further, and you stand there for 60 seconds, what happens? You go from not being able You go from being able to remember where things were a little bit in the 3 seconds to not being able to see anything to in 60 seconds if you sit there you can begin to make out what's going on in the room because your eyes have adjusted to the darkness.
It's amazing because sometimes I'll I'll Brooke will be in the bathroom kind of, you know, doing all her routine, washing her face, doing whatever she does in there.
I don't I don't know. I don't need to know. I don't really I care because I care about her, but I really don't care. So, she's doing whatever she's doing in there. She's doing whatever she's doing in there. I'm in the bed. I have all the lights kicked out. And then she kicks the lights, turns the lights out in the bathroom, and she's like, "Oh my goodness, I can't see anything." And I'm laughing because I can see her standing there trying to navigate her way because I've adjusted to the dark.
Are you with me today? So sometimes people have adjusted the dark and can see and other people when they've just entered darkness can see nothing. There's an adjustment that happens. And honestly, that should concern us because the right place to live as a believer in Christ is in the light.
Matter of fact, it says that when you come into Christ, you are the light of the world, a city on the hill that cannot be hidden.
It is not our job to live in darkness. It is our job to pervade it with our very presence.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 6:21
Right? So, wherever we go, light should shine. There are two kingdoms at work.
Let's be honest. Let me be real with you today. There are two kingdoms at work today. There is the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light. There are some people both inside and outside the church that would like to have their foot in both, but it don't work that way.
The reality is many of us, there are a lot of people who don't even think they're in the kingdom of darkness because they've so adjusted. They've been in it so long that it looks like light to them.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 6:56
It looks clear. They can see their way clear through their day, through their week in their home. The reality is what looks like darkness to one doesn't look like darkness to the other because they have adjusted to this way of living.
Isn't it interesting? Is it interesting? And when you've been in the light and you step into darkness is darkness because of where you've come from, where you reside.
Let me ask you this question. Where do you reside? Where do you reside? And the good news is the light is about to break in a particular region that had not seen light in a long time. And although they might have adjusted to the darkness, the reality is they were about to see a light they had not seen for a while.
When the light breaks in, a lot of things happen. How many of you know when the light breaks in suddenly, it's painful? My wife. I did this little game where you it had like a it was a square with like three squares across the top, in the middle, and the bottom.
You seen this? And it's like something like what animal reminds you of your person? You know, what food reminds you? What color reminds you or whatever? So my son Ashton, my oldest son, asked me to do that. He had done that with his girlfriend and so he asked me to do it with Brooke. I think he wanted to see what I would pick for her and mainly he was curious about the animal I would pick and I picked a gazelle for her.
I remember the first time I saw her, she came running at me from across the way when we were kind of new and she was like a gazelle. It was funny. Her feet never ran like this. They always ran like this. And I love that about her. And I don't really know what this has to do with anything.
Like what am I saying? Why am I talking about this? What I really don't know what I was talking about. The nine squares. The nine squares. Yeah. So we were doing these pictures, these different things that remind us of each other.
I just know that for us in our life, you can't reference who God is to you if you're constantly in darkness.
You can't see him. You can't compare him to anything. What is he to you? I want to do this. I'll break up this message into, you know, honestly, I didn't want to I actually didn't want to preach on this section of Scripture because I thought it was the most boring section of Scripture ever.
The more I got in there, the more interesting I think things became.
Point 1When the light breaks in, endings become beginnings
Start off by saying, when the light breaks in, endings become beginnings. The longer you live, I will tell you this, the more endings you will experience. Okay? C can I just stop and say something? We have a tendency to villainize an ending because of a beginning.
New beginnings not necessarily diminish the ending. Are you with me? God will transition from one thing to another thing. And it does not mean that the one thing you were transitioned from had no role or purpose according to his plan.
Why is it? Why is that? Why is it that we have to villainize where we came from to celebrate where we're going?
Pastor Shawn Gray · 11:18
I love this because John stands in the water. He baptized Jesus. Jesus goes up and he's tempted by the devil. He's successful where nowhere else no one else has ever been successful. And then after that, directly after that, then John is arrested and there is an ending to one area of ministry.
Now Jesus is launching off another area of ministry. This is fantastic. It's exciting. It's a new day. God is about to do something. And everything that John had lived for now had arrived. And we have a tendency in our life then to do this to go well then that means that everything that John did was trash and it doesn't matter and it's unimportant.
You know how many you know how many different endings you've experienced in your life? Do and let me tell you there relational endings. Can we just talk about that for a moment? I know there have been some relationships that you have had that have not been great. I understand that. I've experienced some myself, believe it or not. But I'm here to tell you that every relationship you have experienced, God had a part in that.
And he's developing something in you that makes you who he wants you to be.
You don't have to villainize the relationships you had before to appreciate fully the relationships you have now.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 12:52
All right. This is what gossip is. So I think this is fascinating because right here what we have is we have Jesus transitioning and starting something new.
But is being built on it is almost like a relay of what John had done. Notice that Jesus says the same words, repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. This is what John said. So he continues a ministry. He doesn't abolish a ministry. He continues what John has built. He does not he does not insult what John has built.
Right? And I think that's important. Some of us got to learn the fine art of carrying the torch or I like the torch thing because that's the light, right? The light pervades. Carrying the torch or running the relay of faith. Right? So, as parents, what you're doing for your children is you're you're involved in a relay. You're handing off something, right?
What are you as parents handing off to your kids? It is very important what you hand off. I know you get in the rhythm of life where you just TRY TO survive. Like, I get it. I get how difficult life can be. But we have a responsibility and you are handing something off to your kids. What are you handing off?
You can villainize your parents and the way that they did it and how they failed you, but all of that is a learning experience where now you can hand something off better to your kids than was handed to you.
What are you doing? New beginnings are good and every ending becomes a new beginning.
How you respond to what you hear, listen, determines, he says, when he heard that John was arrested.
What you hear determines what you do. That's why it's very important that you be careful what you're hearing. Some of you are inclining your ears to all kinds of stuff that is informing your feet. It's informing your feet. What you hear informs your feet. What are you listening to? And Jesus heard that John had been arrested. He withdrew into Galilee.
Some of you have been reacting in fear, not faith.
Be careful who you let speak into your ear because sound affects your steps.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 15:28
And Jesus heard that John was arrested and he moved.
But notice, he didn't run in fear. He shifted in purpose. He didn't retreat. He repositioned. And sometimes God will let one voice go silent so another can rise.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 15:36
Listen to this.
John was not first arrested by his enemy by Herod. He was arrested by his mission.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 15:59
Pause for a moment. That's important. He was bound by his calling.
Before the enemy ever put chains on John's wrist and threw him in prison, purpose had already wrapped around his heart.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 16:22
You know how you can have joy even when you're in prison? You know how you can have joy even when you're in trouble to have a purpose beyond simply just existing.
John had that purpose and he was arrested by that purpose. That's why despair sets in when what arrests you is out of order. When you're held by fear instead of faith. By pride instead of purpose, by bitterness instead of obedience, you'll start making poor decisions in your life.
But when your life is arrested by the will of God, even prison becomes a pulpit.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 17:21
See, some of you think that John was silenced because he was in prison. But actually, prison became his pulpit because he was arrested by purpose before he was arrested by a king. The end of John's ministry wasn't the end of God's movement. And I think that's important.
See, some of you think that everything rises and falls on you, but God's purpose outlives you.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 17:48
And then that should encourage you because it should I should honestly it should unbburden you just some just a little bit that everything doesn't rise and fall on you cuz I don't know about you but I got a little bit of stupid in here and everything rises and falls on me.
Well God help us all but it doesn't. That's why we put our faith in something greater and a cause that is greater.
The arrest of one man doesn't arrest the plan of heaven.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 18:31
Some of you enter into despair because you think that your plans, your hopes, your dreams have been arrested and so the plan of heaven must be arrested.
The light didn't go out. It changed locations. When Jesus withdrew into Galilee, prophecy began to walk through darkness. The end of one thing is not the end of everything.
Listen, don't throw away your future because one chapter has closed.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 19:03
Don't don't bury your calling in regret, frustration, or despair. You're you're part of the race of endurance.
It's a relay of faith, not a sprint by yourself. And John carried the torch as far as his hand could hold it. And then Jesus took it and ran on.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 19:23
And now that to torch, according to Scripture, is passed on to you as believers.
The Bible says you're a city on the hill, a light that cannot be hidden. So that torch starts with John, passes on to Jesus. He pervades darkness with it. You're filled with his Holy Spirit upon belief. And now you go into dark places. And guess what? You're the light to those dark places. This is a relay.
The same light that broke into Galilee is shining through your life today.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 20:07
So how are you? Let me ask you, how are you running your leg of the race? And can I say something? Let me tell you. I've been a pastor now for a whole lot of years, like a long time. PS, I didn't want to do it at all. Double PS. I definitely didn't want to be a p preaching pastor, but I didn't want to do any of it.
And everything I told God I wouldn't do, he was like, "Yeah, we'll do that." But I will tell you this.
You don't have to have all the right things to say to be a light. You don't have to know all the good theology to be a light. You just have to show up and love God.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 20:40
Right. Right. I mean, let's look at this.
This is just for kicks. Just for kicks, just to get ahead, right? Matthew 4. Check this out. So, he tells you how to do it. Right. Right. And the next thing walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon and Andrew his brother, casting a net in the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."
Check the order. Follow me. How are we going to BE A light TO THE world? Well, sean, when the light breaks in, wonderful things happen. And that's great for Jesus, and that's great for John. But I ain't neither one of them. I got problems. I'm not like Jesus. I can't make all the right choices. When I'm tempted, I don't make good choices.
I make bad choices. Matter of fact, I wake up, I pretty much expect I'm going TO make A BAD choice. I am a big ball of bad choices. That's what I am. I'm an idiot on wheels. I can't help myself. I got problems.
The light you're shining is not your light. The light you're shining is his light. The righteousness you're living ain't your righteousness.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 21:57
The righteousness you're hidden in is his righteousness. You're clothed in his righteousness. You are a new man. When it says put off the old man and put on the new man, YOU know what it's saying? It's saying PUT YOU OFF AND PUT christ ON. He ain't saying be good. That's not what he's saying. He's saying robe yourself in the righteousness of God because YOU GOT problems AND YOU need TO cover those problems.
And Christ is what you cover it with. A matter of fact, if you want to go be a light to the world in dark places, okay? If you want to do that when there's a little bit of darkness in you want to go do that, you want to be a light to the world, here's how YOU DO that.
Just follow me and I'll make you a light to the world. I'll make you a light TO THE world. I'll DO IT. YOU don't have TO SAY nothing special. YOU don't have TO BE nothing special. YOU don't have TO ACT IN special WAY. Just follow ME. Just follow ME. God does the work. God changes lives. God softens hearts.
GOD does THE work. It's GOD WHO does THE work. YOU GOT A problem in your life. It's God who does the work. YOU GOT somebody YOU want TO meet christ AND know him truly. It's God who does the work. What DO YOU DO? What DO YOU GOT TO DO? You got to sneak attack and sneak Jesus into A conversation.
Absolutely NOT. Follow him. Make him your number one pursuit in all things. When the light breaks in, endings become beginnings.
Point 2Prophecy becomes reality
Number two, when the light breaks in, prophecy becomes reality. The land of Zebulun and Naphali, on them a light had dawned. Not in them, on them. Because before a light dawn in you, it dawns on you. Try with me here. It dawned. Notice it wasn't artificial. It dawned. Yeah. Listen. Listen. Artificial light. I like I have a I have a nightlight in my hallway.
Not because I'm scared. I'm the man. But I don't like jamming my toes into corners of stuff, right? Because I'm the man. But when I jam my toe in the corner of stuff, I become a wall man. I become a little baby actually because I jam my toe. I go down into the fetal position and scoot my head across the floor until I hit a wall.
Like it's bad. So I have nightlights. You want to question my manhood because I have nightlights? That's on you. But I don't like jamming my toes into corner of stuff. That nightlight though, as good as it is, does not pervade the darkness in my house in every corner.
But when the dawn arrives, there ain't no blind you can buy that can keep the light out.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 25:07
And my wife. So, here's where I was going earlier when I was talking about this these three square things, you know, is my wife like I'm like a I'm like a vampire.
Like I could just keep everything dark and live in a coffin. It'd be great. I because light just bothers me and gives me headaches. You know what I mean? But Brooke is like the polyiana gazelle lighthungry joyful giggly that's great at night or during the day but in the morning that's annoying.
Can I get an amen from all the people who take two hours to wake up? Brooke shades are preventing goodness from getting in.
So when she gets up, it's a little bit of, you know, I mean, like, and birds come down and land on her shoulder and they're helping her get dressed. It's crazy. And she's opening the shades and lights coming. I'm like, it's crazy. Most frustrating thing ever. And she loves the light. But even if she doesn't open ALL THE shades IN THE entire house, sorry, I'm venting.
Even if she doesn't do that, the light still gets in. Why? Because there's a difference between artificial light and light. I And I think this I think some of us have exchanged artificial light for true light. You know why? Because true light's offensive. When you're used to being in darkness for so long. And this is why people resist coming to Christ.
Are you with me today? Because that light gets in everywhere. There ain't one area of your life that light ain't touching. Now, with artificial light, that light goes where YOU want IT TO GO. ARE YOU tracking with ME here? YOU CAN position that light or I love this accent lighting. Accent lighting that makes everything look awesome in all the right places.
BUT that's different than when THE sunlight hits. Some of us in our life, we try to figure out how to have God our way. We want the light to come in. We want the light to break into our life our way. So, we want to use him as accent lighting to get him to the places that are convenient for us.
But the reality is when God shows up, he doesn't show UP your WAY. HE shows UP his way. And his way is all inclusive. That means you don't get to pick and choose him in the parts of your life that's convenient for you. When he comes in, he has it all. HE gets IT ALL. HE touches every part of your life.
He gets your tongue. He gets your feet. He gets it all. He gets your hands. He gets it all. He gets it all or he gets none of it at all. You can play games and you can act like you have Christ and you can pick and choose where you want him to shine, but it don't work that way.
There are churches that are built this way. They have Christ their way. Zephilim and Naphali. These are might not mean much to you today, but to Israel, they carried a story. These were the first territories attacked when enemies came in. The first to fall when darkness invaded. The first to feel the sting of oppression when the shame of exile hit for the Israelite people.
For generations they were known as the place where the light went out.
So God goes to the place that was identified as this is where the lights went out and he dawns there.
But now God says the same place will be the first place to see the dawn. I love that. Some of you feel like you're so dark. Your life is so dark that he would never dawn over you. You're too far gone. You've made too many mistakes.
But God has a tendency to show up where you would not pick.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 30:00
It's fascinating. And look what the text says on them. A light had dawned. It's not a flicker. It doesn't flash. It dawns. It's not man-made. It's not a glow of spotlight or a flare of emotion. Some of us just will settle for flares of God occasionally of emotional expon responses. We Some of us chase that conference to conference, place to place, concert to concert.
We chase flares of God because a flare gets us by a little bit, but it doesn't interrupt our lives.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 30:36
Track with me here. It's not accent lighting. But when the light breaks in, it's God's light. Prophecy becomes reality and he dawns on your life.
Point 3Shadows are exposed
Number three, when the light breaks in, shadows are exposed. This is the part that people hate. Okay, track with me. Sh. Here's the good news.
Shadows can't be present if light's not present. But light being present exposes shadows.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 31:09
When light shows up, so do shadows. Shadows don't exist in darkness. In the dark, everything looks the same. You can't distinguish one thing from another.
Sin blends in. That's why some people are comfortable just staying in darkness because people can't see their sin and they can't see others. But honestly, they can't see their own. It comp it compromise, hides. Pride masquerades as strength. But the moment light breaks in, the truth comes into focus. You start to see what was hiding in the corners of your life.
You begin to recognize what's been tolerated but not transformed yet. This is exceedingly annoying. That's why the first word out of Jesus' mouth was repent.
Because light doesn't just comfort, it confronts. Doesn't come to flatter. It comes to reveal the true you.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 32:21
When the kingdom of light invades the kingdom of darkness, shadows start showing up.
And listen, that's not punishment.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 32:39
That's mercy. Because exposure is not rejection. It's inter. It's invitation. When light pervades darkness, you begin to see the outlines of what still needs surrender. You see the parts of your heart that haven't yet been illuminated. And that's your opportunity to not hide, but to reposition yourself. Let the light shine on every part of your life. The places you've kept tucked away, the corners of bitterness, the habits you've excused as permissible, the wounds you've ignored.
Because the light doesn't come to shame you. It comes to heal you.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 33:28
But you have to see the issue first. When Jesus preached repentance, he wasn't condemning. He was calling people out of shadow and into the dawn. He was saying you don't have to live halfway lit anymore.
When the light breaks in, it exposes what's hidden so that grace can restore what's broken.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 33:54
Don't run from the light. Run towards it.
Because the places where the shadow once stood still soon become the brightest testimony of what light can do if you let it in.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 34:06
Like my wife in the morning.
Point 4The kingdoms break through
When the light breaks in, the kingdoms break through.
Listen, Jesus didn't come to inspire hearts. He came to invade territory.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 34:26
Let me tell you, invasion is disruptive. This is why the Bible says, "Count the cost of following him." Okay? There's a cost to his kingdom invading your life.
Now what I used to do as a pastor is I used to diminish the cost to see people chase God only to realize as soon as the cost hit those that I thought were coming to him weren't coming to them not to his kingdom. It was Jesus plus this Jesus plus that. Are you with me today? And we can create a platform in a proclamate.
We can proclaim the gospel in such a way that we can give permission Jesus plus this. That's good. Just come. Just come. Jesus plus. That's okay. Just add Jesus to your life. That'll be great. But the gospel, the true gospel doesn't permit for that. Doesn't permit that. It's Jesus. You will serve Jesus and him only shall you serve.
Are you with me today? So weigh the cost. Let me tell you this. I will tell you this.
The cost of your life minus Christ, that's too great a cost to pay. The cost you pay to have him invade your whole life, that's an investment worth making.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 36:38
But there is a cost. Jesus didn't come just to inspire hearts. He came to invade territory. At hand doesn't mean far off. It means within reach. It means the rule of heaven has entered the neighborhood. For the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
When Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is at hand, he wasn't describing an idea. He was announcing an invasion.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 37:20
Heaven had drawn near. The kingdom had arrived and his reign had begun. And let me tell you, ladies and gentlemen, that's still real for us today. New beginning, new authority, and brings new protocol.
You can't live by the customs of the old kingdom and be a part of the new one.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 37:55
Just track with me here. You can't serve two kings.
If you serve a new king, it's the king's way. P.S. This ain't A democracy. GOD, let me tell you what I think and how you should run your kingdom. Yeah, good luck with that. Good luck with that one. Because he kind of has a way and it's his way or the highway. Now, as a parent, you're good with that.
As him being your king somehow or another, like in your house, it's my way or the highway. But when it comes to God being your king, it's like, it's my way or the highway. And sometimes it can be your way if it's convenient and it matches up with my way. But if he's king, it's his way. He was declaring a change of kingdoms.
Right now, there are two kingdoms at work in this world. There is a kingdom of darkness built on deception, fear, pride, and self. There's a kingdom of light built on truth, grace, righteousness, and surrender. And you can tell who's living in what kingdom. Just you can. And whether we realize it or not, everyone is living under one or the other.
The tragedy is that some are trying to cohabitate.
They want to live in the light while keeping a mailing address in the dark. They want the benefits of heaven without the boundaries of the king. But light and darkness don't share rooms, folks.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 39:21
You can't serve two masters. When the kingdom of heaven is at hand, decision is demanded. Allegiance is required.
Jesus didn't come to negotiate with darkness. He came to overthrow it.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 39:46
Okay, that's that's important. To say the kingdom is at hand means it's accessible, available, and active right now. Not one day in eternity, but today.
The king is close enough to touch. His power is near enough to change you. His authority is strong enough to free you.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 40:01
Heaven's government is within reach of every surrendered heart. Let me tell you. And if you think you're too hard to be touched by God, to be reached by him, and to be changed by him, and to be wanted by him, you're wrong.
You're not too far gone. When the light comes in, it comes in. And let me tell you, it's not selective. Comes into a region and an area pervades the whole area and presents an option.
What will you do with this option? So the light presents an option and THE call OF christ in the midst of that option is turn from the kingdom of darkness and walk towards the kingdom of light.
Choose this DAY whom YOU will serve. It is an option. It is not an option to acquies on. It is an option of intimate and immediate decision. And everyone will choose.
You cannot delay a choice. A delayed choice is a choice.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 41:26
Are you with me today? It's important. When the darkness comes in, endings become beginnings and a bunch of other stuff I said.
I don't want to flip back through my notes. The light comes in. It does stuff. Right now, I'm going to say this to you and I'm going to close. For those who have placed their faith in Christ, he is the only way to salvation. It's not Christ plus works. Christ plus your church attendance, Christ plus this act. It's I put my faith in Christ.
That's it. That's what's great about the gospel.
But when Christ captures your heart, you're his and you're hidden in him. Here's what happens. Everything changes. And let me tell you can begin to know when a new day has dawned in your life. You know, oh, you know, because whenever God begins to relentlessly pursue you, good luck getting away from that.
Are you with me today? You know the story, right? And he just won't stop. He just will not stop. He gets the most hardened hearts. He pursues the most hardened people. But when the light dawn, it dawns and it changes everything.
You know the story. For me, the greatest ministry is not what God does inside the walls of these church.
And he does ministry inside the walls of this church.
The greatest ministry that God does is in the heart of those who are living in darkness.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 43:53
