The message
But we've learned from the biatitudes specifically that you can be sincere about God's word and be sincerely wrong.
That's good. Okay. And you can mishandle his word. And there was a lot of this going on in the day many of the Jews, the scribes, Pharisees specifically were util utilizing God's word for their benefit. So Jesus speaks from the mountain and he begins to speak to them of the importance of receiving God's word as it was intended.
He begins to give some instructional lessons on what his word was really saying when he gave the ten commandments.
We often times will take God's word and create provisional space for us to run freely when he's given a restrictive word.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 2:46
And so we do that and honestly sometimes we do this knowing what we're doing and sometimes we do this not knowing what we're doing but it's a problem. So in this particular text that I'm about to read, what I love about this is Jesus, but this is the word has shown up in human flesh. That's who this is. And so he comes into this house and the word shows up. It is there is an interesting picture here of conflicting messages of the word.
And he shows it in shoe leather. I love it. Verse 14 says, "and when Jesus entered Peter's house," the word entered the house. He saw his mother-in-law lying sick with fever.
He touched her hand and the fever left her and she rose and began to serve him. That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick.
I love that the word speaking a word, right? This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah. He took our illnesses and he bore our diseases. I love that. The word took our illnesses and bore our diseases. The word took our illnesses and bore our diseases. Not your friend. The word took our illnesses and bore our diseases.
Not your counselor. The word took our illnesses and bore our diseases. Could it be we're sick? Not just physically. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about a soul sickness that many of us have walked into the room with. Could it be we're souls sick today because we are not in the word? We run to every else and we forsake the one thing that can take our illness and bear our diseases and heal us from our soul sickness.
One of the most dangerous things that can happen to a person is to become familiar with the Jesus we're called to worship while remaining unchanged by him.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 5:41
There is no such world, listen this morning, where you encounter the Lord and leave unchanged. There is no such reality. I would consider God the most powerful force in the universe. You're not going to contend with things at this magnitude and leave unscathed.
Yet, we preach a gospel today that says that you can encounter God at a personal level and be the same you always were.
But it is interesting because as he comes down off the mountain from preaching, we see him move into an interaction position with people. And notice wherever Jesus interacts with people, whenever people encounter him, notice that they are not the same. Yes. Amen. Here's a good way to know if you're handling and dividing the word of God rightly because when you pick it up there is a picture where you pick up the word every day and you read it and you know that when you read this you're encountering the Lord.
There is a reality where people can be disciplined in their Bible reading. They can be disciplined in their Bible study. They can be disciplined in their journaling and they can still be unchanged.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 7:17
There is a an encounter with the word that's not an encounter with the word. It is amazing because Jesus encounters the Pharisees and the scribe and they stay unchanged. He encounters the disciples and everything changes about their lives. Encounter alone is not enough because you can have an encounter with a version of Jesus that's not really him.
You can open your Scripture and you can read it and you can diagnose it and you can interpret the theology and you can have an encounter with him and be unchanged because like the scribes and Pharisees, you have not really truly encountered his word as he intended.
This becomes concerning because you can be involved in a lot of religious activity and still be unchanged.
And this is why we have people that fill our churches who are soul sick because they do the activity, but they haven't had a true encounter with the true God. Yes. That showed up in shoe leather. They come to church for years. They hear sermons weekly. They sing songs passionately. They raise their hands with emotion and yet remain spiritually dead.
There are people who know the Christian language but do not know Christ, who admire Jesus intellectually while resisting him personally. People who want a savior.
They want a savior from suffering, but not a lord over their sin.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 9:30
And the frightening reality is this. You can fool me. I may never know. You could fool the church. They may never know. You can fool yourself. Yeah.
And as Matthew 7 says, one day you'll know, but right now you do not know. You can fool your family, but you will never fool the son of God. He knows. He knows. Hebrews says, "all things are naked and exposed before his eyes." I love this because when he goes into a house, he sees sickness, the activity. Yeah.
The jokes around the table, the party in the room does not distract him from the sickness in the room. He sees the sickness.
That's what he saw. There was lots of things to see in the room, like the dust on top of the mantle, like like the kids running around and giggling like the smell of the food. We could talk about that. We I would have talked about that. It smells like it's eating time in here. I'm excited about that. It's It's dinner time. But Jesus walks in and the only thing he makes mention of is the lady who's sick.
I think that should encourage us today because there's many of you here today who are so sick. He sees you. He sees sickness. He sees weakness. He sees need and brokenness. And
Christ has never been impressed with outward appearances. Men look at polished reput reputations and God looks at the heart.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 11:18
And what makes this text glorious is that Jesus does not recoil from sick people.
He walks into our mess. Come on now. Maybe we're not a shouting church, but he walks into our mess. That's good news for us today. He doesn't wait for you to get your house in order before he comes in. And he walks in when it's not in order. And the fact that it's not in order is an opportunity for him to demonstrate his greatness in your life. See, some of you are waiting to get things polished.
Like, how many of you have ever heard this? We got married, we want to have kids, or we're waiting till we get our finances in order.
Yeah, you ain't having kids if that's really the thing. You aren't having kids because it's never in order enough.
And the reality is I want to say this. You're not the remedy to your problem.
You've been trying to save yourself and perfect your house and get things in order your whole life. How's it going?
Pastor Shawn Gray · 12:39
How's it going today? And getting things in order in your house. Some of us need Jesus to show up in the midst of our sickness and help bring order to our house. The order we could never bring, the order we've been striving for, the order that we've been trying to get to, we can't get to. And no matter how much we strive, we need a savior to help save us from our self.
We got we need help. I need help today. I mean, just listen to me. Fly to Orlando in the summer. Feel the feels.
And you'll realize you're soulsick and you still need help. I'm a pastor. I have a degree. And I realize in situations like this, God's still doing a work in me. Amen. Amen. And it is good news to know that he doesn't quit on you. He is cleaning house. It is a spring cleaning. But cleaning is happening. No such thing as a Christian life.
That's a hoarder house that stays a hoarder house. He brings order to the ho to the hoarder. That was interesting. That kind of just happened. That was really weird, but that just happened. He walks into the mess. The king enters ordinary spaces. I love this. The creator steps into human weakness. The word made flesh invades the fallen world. And when he enters, listen, and this you I just
When the word shows up as it was intended, everything changes.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 14:22
Not because he came merely to improve your life. But became he ca but because he came merely to remove not because he came to temporarily remove your suffering.
That's not what he's here for. Well, I have a problem and it's just what the doctor ordered for him to fix it. Like, Okay, that's not what he's here for. You know why he came? To save sinners. Yes. Amen. That's why he came.
That's the why. Don't miss the why. See, you want to convert everything into he opens deaf ears and blind eyes and makes cancer go away and makes lame man walk. And I think all that's great. It's it's a it becomes a benefit of his presence because things change in his presence. But his purpose was not to make blind people see. His purpose was to make sinners saved.
That's what he came for. That's your ultimate sickness.
You can be lame your whole life, but if you're saved from sin, that's a healing that runs deeper than the flesh.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 15:48
He came to save sinner. He came to establish his kingdom. He came to preach truth. And ultimately, he came to carry the wrath of God upon himself for all who would repent and believe. Listen, Matthew 8 is not fundamentally about miracles. It's about the authority. Listen to me. Listen to me. Pay attention. It's about the authority of his word. Yeah.
That's what it's about. So, whenever you see a miracle, he's putting exclamation points on his word.
Not notice that he doesn't just do miracles in a vacuum. He preaches the word and he does miracles to support his word. The point of the miracles is to support his word. Let the attention fall where the attention was meant to fall. His word. Yeah. It has authority. I have a couple points I want to talk about. The first one is this. The word entered the house. I love this.
That's where it came. It came to the house. And when Jesus entered Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with the fever. He didn't listen he did not begin here in the synagogue is not in a stadium not at a giant conference where everybody within you know 300 miles drove in to see this famous person. Not beneath lights and smoke machines.
Not under celebrity applause in the privacy of someone's home. See, that's where he's trying to get today. See, listen to me. Listen to me. Listen. I'm going to be in trouble today. I there ain't no way I'm getting through my nose. But just track with me here. We got a problem today in America. Yes. Because we think that movements of God happen publicly and not privately.
When we attribute revivals, we do so in the masses, you know how you did listen all of these revivals that have been happening maybe a quotation mark may not be we don't know but everybody attributes moves of God to great movements in public and we don't know because until the movement that we see in public moves into the privacy of the home. We don't know the validity of it.
That's good. We have too many people that get excited by the activity amongst the masses that we forget that God does work personally.
Yes. And the evidence of a revival is what he does when we encounter him personally. Right.
If he doesn't change the home, why are we celebrating a move of God at a conference?
Pastor Shawn Gray · 18:54
If all the people that were at the conference left unchanged, right, for after the encounter, yeah, their home isn't different, their language isn't different, their attitude's not different, their car doesn't sound different, their music isn't different, nothing is different.
But it was a revival. It was a mighty move of God. I'm not hating. I'm saying God is saying to us the word doesn't just show up in lights.
It shows up in your home. Right. Amen. See, when you substitute Sunday morning for what could happen in your home, you miss your healing. Yes. You miss it. You forsake it. You forsake it. Some of you are soul sick because you've exchanged A public demonstration of his word rather than an intimate engagement with the God of the universe in your home.
This is a problem. It's a problem. God, I got on my calendar here. It just said noise levels too loud. Warning. Okay, so point taken. Point taken. I don't even know what I was going to say. Let's just move on. He steps into the house. I love this. He steps into ordinary walls, into common spaces, into your family burden, into private suffering.
Because
The kingdom of God does not always invade platforms. It invades kitchens and bedrooms and dinner tables, places where nobody else sees the pain in your heart.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 20:56
And the text says this, he saw. He didn't glance. He didn't observe casually. He saw her. I love that. Yes. Th this is terrifying and comforting at the same time. Nothing is hidden from his eye from his eyes. And I know you've been trying to put on a good front. Like I get it.
Like I got this. And men especially, can I get a gentle amen from the men? Men especially, I got this. I don't need no help from nobody. That means you need help from somebody because it was a double negative. You see what I did there? That was tricky. I just tricked you. Tricked you. You need help.
You do need help. And I want you to know he sees your hurt. Some of you have buried your hurt beneath your lying professions, men, to present a strong front. But you got problems, too. Deep hurts in your heart that need to be seen. And I understand men I understand like the culture today is men are not allowed to hurt because that's a sign of weakness. Like even when boys get hurt on playgrounds, it's just blow that junk off and toughen it up, buttercup. You know what I mean?
And so
From a young age, men grow up learning to not be seen in their hurt.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 22:47
So for men today, this is terrifying because your whole life has been constructed on like little statements of I'm fine. How you doing? Good. What's going on? What are you thinking about? Nothing. To be unseen. But when Jesus shows up, he sees you. No. Not the you present to your wife and your children and your employee and your employer and to all your friends and to the church and to everybody else. But the you that's the real you. He sees that part of you. The part that you think's been unseen by everyone else.
He sees that. And this is this makes men feel naked. It's unsettling.
He sees her and he sees you. Christ is not deceived by religious activity.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 23:51
There are people who can quote theology, not tremble before God. People can debate doctrine and yet secretly love the world. People know Christian culture but never who've never been broken over sin. And religion teaches people how to perform before men. And Jesus then walks straight into our houses and exposes that reality.
He knows all that. Yeah, like you got other people full, but he knows. He knows. He sees her in her brokenness. He sees her. And notice something glorious. Peter did not Peter did not heal the house before Jesus entered it.
Christ entered the brokenness first. That's the gospel. We don't get people straightened out before they come to church. Right?
Do not mistake his mercy for indifference. Jesus does not enter the house and then coexists with all the sickness.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 25:09
See, you thought you were like, "Man, this is really good. I feel encouraged and then I just kind of right hooked you."
Know what I mean? I did the normal Sean thing, but I left it till the very end of this point, right? Bam. Because some of you think that God wants to coexist with your problems, and he doesn't. He came to fix them, right? I've heard Christians that have been Christians for 25 years said, you know, excuse my French.
I think French is a beautiful language. I don't think you're speaking it.
You know what I mean? I think it's beautiful. That sounds beautiful. You know what I mean? I don't know. It sounds beautiful. Well, you speaking ain't French and you've been speaking it for 25 years. And let me ask you say that God's taking up residence in your home, in your house, and he's coexisting with your tongue.
I'm sorry. What God did you encounter?
You encountered a version of a God that you've made a version of God that's bedfellows with your sin.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 26:29
That's what it is for 25 years. That's what it is.
Some people want Jesus who visits wants a Jesus who visits churches occasionally when it's convenient. Who visits on the weekend once a year and I got him for five days at Christmas time, but I don't want him to have a room in my house because that means things are going to change cuz the sick part of me that I fallen in love with, he's going to deal with that.
Number two, the word touches and transformed. He touched her hand. Don't let that be lost on you. He gets personal here. And the fever left her and she rose and began to serve him. Listen, this is not some kind of when I pass kidney stones, I suffer for a little while.
Hopefully, not more than a week. I've had some that have last longer than a week. I've had some that have last months and it's it's brutal. But after a week of being in pain off and on as the stone moves and things happen that happened for me, I'll let you know at the end of that I ain't strong.
Sometimes after it has p this too shall pass. After it has passed, I can guarantee you I'm worse off than when I was sick.
It's like my body releases and I have to take medication for my headache and my body aches just from being tense all the time. And I really don't feel like going on a hike with Brooke. Although it has passed and she's been waiting to go on a walk, I ain't feeling it, bro.
I don't want to go for a walk and I sure as heck don't want to clean the grill right now. Are you with me today? Don't want to do that. Sounds fun. You want to sit on the porch? No, I want to die. But he heals her so completely that she don't need to recoup. This is not a halfway healing.
When you encounter the word, it don't halfway help you. Right?
There is such a way as applying his word to our lives in a fashion that it appeases our fancies but doesn't transform our lives.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 29:17
We see them most often in Christian t-shirts. I want to like Christian t-shirts. I want to like them. But 90% of them I cannot write I cannot wear. Number one, because they're taken out of context. Number two, I know how people are applying the Scripture. That Scripture is real. I don't hate the Scripture. I hate the way people interpret the Scripture. I know. I know what those people are thinking because they don't come off the racks and sell out because people realize that I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me means being happy in prison.
Amen. Being happy in your suffering, being I can do that, too. I can I know what it is to be a based and I know what it is to be I know what both is. But he you know what he was talking about this to be a based to be beaten and love him to be to be chained and worship him to be ridiculed and prioritize him. That I can do that.
People aren't buying the t-shirt because of that. They're dying because they want to hit a three-pointer. Yeah. Did you know that you can apply God's word for word in an improper fashion and still remain souls sick?
You can encounter his word on a regular basis and not be delivered. But when you encounter it as he intended it doesn't just take your fever away. It restores you completely to the degree you can move right into service. That's crazy. That's the kind of healing that if we want to be listen you, some of you wish you could be a great evangelist and you think evangelism is about you being able to eloquently relay Scripture. And I do think Scripture is foundational in evangelism. But if people began to see your true encounter with the word and it healing you completely,
If they could see this kind of transformation in your life, not just the touch that you talk about, but the transformation they can see, that's evangelism the world has never known.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 31:38
Right?
What would happen if people got healed completely to the degree that their life was a living testimony everywhere they went, everywhere they went. See, sometimes we want to apply God's word like the fairy godmother does to a pumpkin.
Bippity boppity boo. Are you with me? Bippity boppity boo. We love magical words. Abracadabra bippity boppity boo. Some of us apply God's word to our lives this way. A fairy godmother waves a wand and fantasies appear. Pumpkins become carriages and rags become gowns and mice become horses. But notice the bippity, the boppity and the boo only lasts till midnight. Right? Amen.
Some of us go to conferences, we get a bippity boppity boo and wonder why that bippity boppity boo, that word didn't transform our life past midnight because we applied it wrong. But when the word comes in human flesh and in shoe leather and he walks amongst us and we encounter him as he intended, he doesn't just he doesn't just transform the room for a moment. He transforms a life for eternity. Amen.
You're changed completely. The miracles of Jesus are not theatrical tricks meant to entertain the crowd.
Christ did not come performing divine party tricks to fascinate spectators.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 33:27
And sadly, much of the modern Christianity today treats Jesus like a spiritual magician. Perform for me, dance for me. Pull something out of your proverbial hat. People come to him for better circumstances and better finances and better emotions and better opportunities, but they do not come to bow before him as Lord.
The miracles exist for the sake of the word, not the opposite way around.
The signs pointed to the Savior. The wonders testified to the King. Every healing preached a sermon and every miracle declared, "Listen to me." John 3:2 says this, "No one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him." The miracle authenticated the message. Yes, that's what's happening here. He's authenticating what he preached on that mountain.
He authenticated the mission of Christ. Not merely healing bodies, not merely improving earthly comfort, not creating fascinated audiences addicted to spectacles.
Mark 1:38 tells us real sweetly what Jesus was doing when he did miracles. Let me just read it to you. It's one sentence. After performing many miraculous signs, Jesus declared to his disciples this. Let us go on to the next towns that I may preach there also, cuz that's really what I came to do.
Yeah,
I know you think Jesus is here to serve you and do miracles for you and perform and dance for you, but he came to declare his word.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 35:36
And the miraculous puts an exclamation point on what he preaches. And at the end of the day, the greatest power is what the word accomplishes in the souls of men. Yes. Not in the flesh of them. Right?
He came to preach. He came to reveal the father. He came to call sinners to repentance. He came to carry iniquity to the cross. See fairy the fairy godmother prepares people for a ball. And some of you are really wanting to have one. Just want to have a ball in your house and you just want to you want to have a ball out with your friends and you want to you want to have a ball and that's all you want to do is just have a ball.
Have a good old time. Let's go play golf and have a ball. How many of you know you can have a ball all day long and that does not change and help your hearts sick position?
Very godmothers prepare people for the ball, but Jesus prepares them for eternity. And there is a difference.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 36:42
And then don't miss this. And I'll finish this point. He touched her hand and the fever left. It left completely helped her to move to service. I'll just move on to the third point. Third point is this. The word opened the door for many. I love this.
The word rightly divided as intended opens the door for me many.
When you make Jesus his word, Christ all about what you get.
That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons. And he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick.
Listen, I love this. One touched life becomes a dynamic testimony.
The miracle in Peter's house did not stay in Peter's house. Didn't stay there. When people encounter real authority, word spreads.
One transformed woman becomes an open door for a city full of suffering.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 38:22
And notice the language. He cast out the spirits with a word. One word. Not warfare, not panic, not human strength, not religious performance. One word from Christ and hell retreated.
Because the word standing in that house was the same word that spoke galaxies into existence. The same voice that said, "Let there be light." Hell has never argued successfully with the word. Right?
Demons recognize authority faster than many church people do. And this should wake us up. We have too many ministries built on personalities instead of power. Too many churches built on entertainment instead of truth. Too many sermons filled with stories but empty of Scripture.
Amen.
Weak preaching creates weak Christians. When the word is absent, darkness grows comfortable and sets up house.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 39:30
Yes. But when the Christ when Christ speaks with authority, de demons tremble, sin is exposed. Captives are free. Dead hearts awaken.
And don't underestimate what God can do through one transformed life inside a home. Try with me here. Okay. If and let's say a family of four for the sake of including everyone, we have a daughter, we have a son, we have a mother, we have a father. Let's just say the nuclear family. Let's just say that family. If inside the home we have that and a child gets saved, there is a 3% chance that other people in the house will get saved because transformation in one affects another. Are you with me today?
That's what it have. It moves from the individual to the group. If a mother gets saved, there is a 17% chance that other people in the household will get saved.
How many of you are happy that if a child gets saved, 3% chance that other people get saved? That's celebration because your individual transformation affects others. That's a guaranteed. If the father gets saved, there's a 95% chance, not that other people, the rest of the house will get saved.
This is why I believe Jesus spent so much of his time healing blind men. Because if men can see clearly, it moves from the individual to the masses. If children can see clearly, it moves from the individual to the masses. If a mother can see clearly, it moves from an individual to the masses.
This is very important. Mothers, you have a role. You have a role. It's an important role and let me tell you your transformation never happens in a vacuumous space.
It's influential. What happens to you personally affects others globally. Why does this happen? Because
God has ordained spiritual influence within the home. And this is why Satan fights homes so fiercely.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 42:27
Yeah. Because this is where true transformation happens. Let me listen to me family. Listen to me. Whoopde-doo dah to the day. If you come on Sunday and you're nice and transformed for an hour, whoopde-dah day. But if your home is transformed, if you've had a reckoning and an encounter with God that's so transformative that now your home is what it looks like on Sunday, now something's happening, right? Yes.
That's what God wants to do. Amen. He's trying to move them from a place where they only prioritize what's happens in the temple to help them realize that the temple is wherever you go. And
It makes little sense for the temple to be holy here and hellish there.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 43:50
Yes.
He's moving encounters with God from behind veils into homes. Jesus shows up in the place he wants to transform.
What's your home look like? I know you think you might not have invited him in, but it says, "Everywhere you go, we live and move and find our come on. You can't escape it. He's already there." See, some of you think you're come cho come to church to meet God. But see, God was at your home and in your car on the way here.
So, when y'all were fighting this morning to get here, I'm not Let me take it back. Not fighting to get here. Fighting each other because you wanted to get here.
He was there. Oh God, we pray prayers like, "Oh God, would you come?" Too late. Too late. He's already there. God, would you move? Too late. He's already moving. Instead of declaring what God should do, bippity boppity boo, you s you should acknowledge what needs to be done in you.
Yes,
He ain't your fairy godmother. He's your healer. He's your savior.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 45:28
And I know you don't think you're sick, but you are. And he sees you. And with a word, he can change everything. You're like, Sean, you don't know the problem I have. You just don't get it, man. His name's Rick. You know what I mean? Like, I like I'm sorry. You don't know the problem I have. It's an addiction and I can't be set free from it. See, here's the thing. Here's the thing.
He's good at doing impossible things. He's good at transforming lives. He's good at doing more than just touching you in mercy, but transforming you in power.
Listen, one mother or one father opening the Bible changes what becomes normal in the house. One mother or one father repenting changes the spiritual atmosphere of a family. One father or one mother truly fearing God can alter generations. Peter's house became a doorway for suffering people to meet Jesus because Christ had already invaded that home. And hear this carefully.
Revival that never reaches the house is not revival at all.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 47:00
It's just not one house touched by Jesus became a refuge for many oppressed people. And this is still the mission of the church today. A truly transformed life becomes an invitation for suffering people to meet Christ. Your healing is not merely about you.
Your testimony is not merely about you. Your freedom is not merely about you. God touches one person so many can come. That's good. That's the point of the gospel. And Matthew closes this scene by reminding us that all this pointed to Isaiah's prophecy. He took our illness and bore our diseases. Every miracle whispered about the cross.
The ultimate healing was not fever leaving the body. The ultimate healing was sin being carried by the lamb
Pastor Shawn Gray · 47:59
because sickness is terrible and demons are terrible. But the greatest disease is humanity in rebellion against God.
Let's all close with this. So the question today is not whether Jesus can enter your house. The question is whether you'll let him confront what's inside there. Because when the word enters, hidden things are exposed. That sounds scary. When the word touches, lives are transformed. When the word speaks, darkness loses its grip in the home.
Don't be the type of person who wants inspiration without surrender, comfort without repentance, and miracles without holiness.
The Christ of Matthew 8 did not enter Peter's house merely to make people feel better. He entered as king.
Pastor Shawn Gray · 49:03
And kings do not negotiate with terrorists. They demand surrender.
The beauty of the gospel is this. The same hand that carries authority extends mercy. The one who cast out demons with the word is the same one who would stretch his hand upon the cross. The one who healed fevers would bear wrath. The one who entered Peter's house would enter death itself and walk out victorious three days later. So bring him the hidden sickness.
Bring him the secret bondage. Bring him the exhausted soul and the divided heart. Because one touch from Jesus changes everything. Changes
